The second SDG Tool Workshop has been applied first time at the global level for the assessment of “Increasing Quality and Accessibility of Streets in Çankaya Neighborhoods in Ankara, Turkey” on January 19th, 2021 by all project parties; Çankaya District Municipality, Arup, UKFCDO and UN-Habitat. The constructive and participatory discussions reveal main technical and effectiveness aspects of project activities towards the achievement of SDG targets. The workshop gives an opportunity to City Authority and Delivery Partner to share their joint expectations and potential areas for collaboration required to increase the success and ownership in the project frame.

After a very successful, effective and participatory pre-assessment meeting held together with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) under UN-Habitat consultation, the first WS has been organized for the assessment of Istanbul Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan Project on August 31st, 2020 according to tailored SDG tool. IMM and Delivery Partner, Arup, discussed the project activities in line with the selected performance criteria and sustainability principles under various key drivers of sustainable development. By means of that, they could observe how to improve their project activities in next stages and to increase SDGs alignment level.
