GFCP show-cased as UK-BMA successful partnership

Global Future Cities Programme (GFCP) was discussed by British Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding, Thailand’s Minister of Interior General Anupong Paochinda, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s (BMA) Deputy Permanent Secretary Mr. Chawin Sirinak.

During the meeting

The British Ambassador gave an update on the UK-BMA partnership. The GFCP has provided a technical exchange and capacity building programme for BMA officials. The programme focuses on 3 areas: Integrated Data Hub, Decision Support System for Flood Management in Bangkok (Lat Phroa area), and Transit-oriented Development Plan in Khlong Bang Luang and Bang Wa BTS Station.

The Minister of Interior realised the importance of the partnership and its goals to improve the quality of life of the people of Bangkok. The Minister also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the UK Government and the BMA for the partnership on the GFCP.
