The UKBEAG is a collaboration between the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) and the Landscape Institute (LI), the aim of which is to provide a conduit for the transfer of built environment expertise to foreign governments together with humanitarian and development agencies such as the UK Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office and UN Habitat.

Future Cities South Africa (FCSA) is the delivery partner for the South Africa project in the Global Future Cities Programme. The project is funded by the UK Government's Prosperity Fund and overseen by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
